Dr. Udo Schmiedl has over 20 years experience in academic and clinical radiology. After earning a combined MD-PhD degree at the University of Heidelberg, he completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology and Radiation Oncology at the University of Tübingen, followed by a fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Contrast Media Research. He then completed a residency at the University of Washington and became Professor of Radiology and Director of Body Imaging at University of Washington Medical Center. Dr. Schmiedl joined Seattle Radiologists, APC in 2001. When he's not taking care of patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. Running and weightlifting keep him in shape when he can't downhill or cross country ski. His other hobbies include travel, playing jazz and photography.

Dr. Schmeidl is certified by both the American and the German Boards of Radiology. His subspecialty areas include body imaging, MR, CT, Ultrasound and Radiofrequency Ablations of malignant tumors.
